Weather

It is far from any ocean, so it is very hot, dry, and cold, by turns, with
shifting sand dunes that goes up to 300 meters propelled by northerly winds,
and sand storms. But Takla Makan is usually warm with a mazimum temperature
range 70 degreeF (39 degree C). The continental environment of the Taklamakan creates frigid temperatures, even in the summer when evening temperatures dip below freezing. So I would recommend to bring many cool clothes in sun, but to bring a jacket just in case.

You can visit the Silk Road and camp out in Taklamakan desert. The best time of the year will be September/ October, but it could be cold so you might want to bring warm jackets. If you want to have better experience for Taklimakan desert camel trekking with higher sand dunes, I highly recommend you to go to Hotan. September is just great experience and the weather is justpleasant, not too hot and not too cold.
But it could also be dangerous because of the sand storms that can sometimes make it hard for crossing the desert for days at a time.
